Our approach & impact
We will measure what matters, and report it honestly
GAP Education is new, so we have no results to report yet. This page sets out how we will judge whether our work is making a difference.
How we work
Listen first
We design programmes with parents, young people and partners, starting with the Parent Advisory Group.
Start small
Each programme begins as a small pilot, so we can learn before we grow.
Safeguard always
No programme starts until safeguarding, recruitment, insurance and risk arrangements are in place.
Work in partnership
We signpost to, and work alongside, the services already supporting Bradford families.
Measure honestly
We collect simple, proportionate evidence and report what we find, including what did not work.
Keep improving
Feedback from each session and cohort shapes the next one.
What we will measure
Each programme has its own evaluation plan, built on the same five areas.
| Area | What we will look at | How |
|---|---|---|
| Participation | Who takes part, how often, and who we are not yet reaching | Attendance records, anonymised profile data |
| Learning | Knowledge and skills gained, such as understanding SEND processes or study skills | Learning reflections, progress reviews, individual goals |
| Confidence | Changes in confidence, wellbeing and support networks | Short entry and exit questionnaires |
| Feedback | What participants valued and what should change | Session feedback, follow-up conversations, advisory group |
| Improvement | What we changed as a result | Trustee review after each pilot cohort |
Our reporting promise
- We will publish a short impact summary once our first programme has completed a full cohort.
- We will never invent results, testimonials or participant numbers.
- Any quotes or photographs from participants will be used only with informed consent.
- Personal information collected for evaluation will be handled in line with our privacy notice.
Funders and partners who would like to discuss our evaluation framework are welcome to email admin@gapeducation.org.uk.
