Privacy notice
How we look after your information
We only collect the information we need, keep it securely and never sell it.
Who we are
GAP Education is preparing its application to register as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Until registration is complete, our founding trustees are responsible for personal information held on GAP Education's behalf. You can contact us about data protection at admin@gapeducation.org.uk.
What information we collect
At this stage we only collect information that you choose to send us by email. This usually includes your name, email address and anything you write in your message. We ask you not to send sensitive personal information, such as health details, by email.
We do not run online forms, accounts, newsletters, analytics or advertising on this website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry
- To keep a record of interest in our programmes, volunteering or partnerships, if you ask us to
- To handle complaints and data protection requests
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and developing our charitable work. Where you ask us to keep your details for future contact, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your information for marketing. Our website is hosted by Netlify and our email by Fasthosts, which process data on our behalf. Netlify is based in the United States and protects any personal data transferred there with recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We would only share information with others where the law requires it, or where someone may be at risk of harm.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for up to two years after our last contact with you, unless there is an ongoing reason to keep them, such as a complaint or partnership. We then delete them securely.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email admin@gapeducation.org.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
